A classic pink lustre jug by Scott's of Sunderland, well decorated with a transfer of a 'Frigate in Full Sail' a verso below the spout 'England England Glorious Name....' and another colourful transfer 'The Token or Jack's safe return to his true love' showing a sailor returning to his sweetheart carrying a hot cross bun. These were baked at the beginning of the voyage and kept in the sailor's sea chest as a mascot against death.
Circa 1850-75
Approx. 6.5 inches (165mm) tall x 7 inches (180mm) wide.
In very good condition with a nibble to the spout.
